The 5th International Conference on Crime Geography and Crime Analysis
July 6-8, 2018
Guangzhou, China
Announcement #1
Conference Website:
http:
http://cigna.sysu.edu.cn/

In recent years, the important role of geographic research in crime prevention and control has been increasingly recognized. With enhanced academic exchanges between scholars and practitioners, the geographic research of crime in China has made great progress in theoretical, methodological, and practical fields. However, several directions still call for further attention, such as theoretical innovations based on the Chinese context, interdisciplinary collaborations for integrated crime analysis, and applied policing research.
Embracing the opportunities and challenges in crime geography and crime analysis, this conference aims to promote the application of foreign crime geography theories in domestic contexts, to encourage theoretical and methodological innovations in crime analysis based on the domestic experiences, to foster interdisciplinary collaborations, and to provide a platform for communications between practitioners and researchers.
The 5th International Conference on Crime Geography and Crime Analysis will be held at the Guangzhou University in Guangzhou, China during July 6-8, 2018. It is organized by Center of GeoInformatics for Public Security (CGIPS), School of Geographical Sciences, Guangzhou University, in cooperation with the Guangdong Division of the National Remote Sensing Center of China, Center for Integrated Geographic Information Analysis (CIGNA), Department of Geography, University of Cincinnati. We warmly welcome the participation of all experts, scholars, and practitioners who are specialized in criminology, geographic information science, and other related fields.
